Sainsburys opens in Bath Road

August 7, 2010 in News

The new Sainsburys has now opened in Bath Road on the old Spar, was Somerfield, was Gateway site.

The shop has been given a bit of a spruce up but the same faces will be there to serve you, along with some new ones. 70 year old Mrs Hamson has been working at the site for the last 19 years and has seen the supermarket through all its changes. She’s delighted to have kept her job.

Store Manager Sean Ormsby said he was pleased to have retained all 17 members of staff from Spar and has created an additional 13 new posts.

Are you a Sainsburys or Co Op person? Do you prefer to go really local and support independent traders like the Natural Grocery Store and Roots and Fruits? We’ve got it all in Leckhampton.
