Cheltenham Borough Council have predicted a £4m shortfall over the next four years, and are making great efforts in trying to engage with Cheltenham residents by launching a budget consultation.
We will soon be interviewing the Chief Finance Officer Mark Sheldon and would love for you to have your say.
If you’d like to know more about where the money goes, please let us know your questions by leaving a comment below.
In the meantime, you can take a look at our online version of the budget consultation which tells you a little more about the Council’s spending and the struggle we are facing in Cheltenham.

Would the council like to give spacolour the chance to quote for their workwear. We are sure we can save you money or improve the quality and durability of your current kit thus saving you early replacement cost. All I need is a list of garments and i will prepare a wardrobe for you.
Hmmm, not quite the sort of questions we were expecting, but I guess it’s one way of saving the pennies! Do we get commission if we clinch the deal for you Ben??
Could you ask Mark the following
1) Are you cutting internal costs as well as our services?
2) What is the overall spend of the council?
3) Are you intending to cut the salary cost of the council?
4) What savings does the council have in banks?
tks
